The Fourth Level – Book 11 – Advent

Advent

In the aftermath of the last adventure, only Tristan Merrick is certain of what had occurred to be true, while Charlemagne de la Cabernet and Diana Cambridge are less certain. Nonetheless, in an effort to come to an understanding in what really happened last Halloween, Charlemagne and the kids attend psychotherapy sessions at the local hospital.

However, when Tristan suddenly recalls a traumatic memory from his early childhood during one of these sessions, he quickly becomes obsessed as he starts to question his family origins and where he came from. This obsession takes him and Diana on their own adventure in the form of a road trip as Tristan pursues the truth in who he is and who his parents were, seeking to come home. Meanwhile, Charlemagne as well as other parties chase after Tristan as he recklessly abandons the safety of Allabrese to learn what he wants to know about himself.

Who were Tristan’s parents? Is this memory real, or a stain from the last adventure? To what extent will Tristan’s emotions drive him in this obsessive journey sourced on a whim, and likewise, to what extent will Diana’s emotions exhaust as she stays loyal to Tristan in this seemingly crazed state…?

The Fourth Level – Book 4 – Outlaw

Diana Cambridge cannot take it anymore. The rural life in Allabrese has become too much for the city street orphan that she is, or so it seems, as her behavior appears to have changed since the last adventure. However, Diana is able to find solace in an unexpected friendship with a strange black horse and an estranged black aristocrat, Arturo Medici. In addition, Diana soon finds herself competing in equestrian races to cope with the anxiety that pulses from within in an attempt to run from what she cannot run from.

Charlemagne and Tristan are aware of the change in Diana’s behavior, but Charlemagne is powerless to intervene and instead antagonizes poor Diana, while Tristan is conflicted by his own emotions, and the two instead worsen the situation. Tristan, whose own ego and buried emotions from a former trauma keep him from approaching Diana, the two are at risk of indefinitely separating themselves and going their own way.

What aches poor Diana’s heart? Was it the rush of the last adventure, Tristan, or is there more from her former life that she is hiding? Will Tristan overcome himself and intervene, or will he let Diana consume herself?
